Latin America is more important than you think

It is very likely that millions of businessmen spend a lot of time wondering which are the best places, industries and mechanisms to invest. Multiple emerging markets destinations come across this dilemma and Latin America stands out between them.

Latin America has shown surprising signs of change in the last two decades. When comparing some of the most important economic indicators from 1993 to 2013, an important improvement is the most notorious fact: GDP per capita jumped from US$ 4,165 to USD$ 12,332, inflation decreased from 10.2 to 3.9, population with income of less than 1 dollar per day moved from 11.4% to 5.5%, foreign debt was reduced from 34.5% to 24.5% and finally, in terms of average GDP growth we saw a 2% improvement from 2% in 1980 to 4% in 2012.

In December 2013, the prestigious Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU described Latin America as one of the key places in terms of foreign direct investment destinations, and talked about the impressive market size, 600 million people, as one of the most important appeals about the region.

The book ¨Latin America: Markets and Exhibitions 2015- 2016¨, is the perfect tool to detail the business opportunities in the region, not only from the macroeconomic side but from the Exhibition industry view, an industry that has proven tremendous growth in the last decade and that promises great expectations for the coming years.

Our publication, developed in a joint effort with AUMA, UFI and local global stands out as the best mechanism for exhibition organizers, business associations, exhibition and convention centers, to market their events and promote the great business opportunities for exhibitors and visitors that are interested in Latin America. On the same line, the book aims to be a guide for those international service providers or exhibition organizers looking to enter the market and join the current 50 multinational companies that operate in the region. This guide will provide information about the endogenous characteristics of the market, its competitive advantages and potentials.

I kindly invite you to be part of this outstanding project, which will be delivered to the 2014 UFI-AFIDA Congress´ participants on October 29th in Bogotá, Colombia. The book will be market in the major social networks providing commercial and branding opportunities for the companies involved.

Don’t miss the opportunity to join the only editorial project of this kind in our region!
